Something Went Wrong With Outlook Please Try Again When Using 2fa Office 365
If y'all are remote, VPN to the corporate domain. I employ this trick quite a flake. I guess information technology helps AutoDiscovery along somewhat.
Oh, and run gpupdate /strength while you are at it. Then re-boot.
That can help as well.

Effort adding the new mail account through control panel mail. It will allow you to set up it up manually

The automobile is on site, still not working.
Tried via Outlook and via Control Panel.
Like I said information technology works on the local user just non their domain account and then something there which is different

I had this issue with ane of our customers.
gpupdate /force was the solution for me on this particular occasion.
Have to use it regularly with hybrid environments.

FYI the gpupdate does goose egg.
I had to disable EnableADAL and disable MFA to be able to add the business relationship. So had to re-enable MFA to actuate the package.

Dainty fix. I will make a note of this as no doubt, sooner or later, I will probably run into the same issue somewhere down the line.

Cheers! This solution worked for me every bit well. I've not seen this trouble with any of the other users when I've setup Outlook for them, just 1 item user had fix up her electronic mail account in the Outlook app for iOS. Not certain if this caused it but it the solution was certainly not straight forrard!

One affair to look at is removing all former Outlook credentials from the Windows Credential Manager when setting up the new profile!

Hi,
Please I have same problem, Could you lot tel me how to solve? And what is the mean of MFA

The GPUPDATE /FORCE fixed it for me while I was connected to the Advertising over a VPN.
Cheers

I don't want to downplay the possible effectiveness of the diverse resolutions listed previously in this thread. I tried them all (and a few more than) before reaching out to Microsoft for assistance. Life's too curt to struggle with poorly designed security.
Delight sympathize that our setups might vary greatly, and so the solution I am describing here may not exist effective for you lot, just every bit the other fixes listed here didn't assist me. Merely that'due south not to say I wasn't grateful for the endeavour expended posting them hither.
My Windows 10 Pro (21H2) computer is NOT a domain fellow member, and that alone might might brand a departure. That was i of the commencement questions the support lady asked.
My reckoner suddenly started asking yesterday, over and over, for my Outlook/Exchange 365 password. I know I was entering it right - I tested it using webmail. I of the steps I took in the process to resolve this was to delete my Outlook profile, but I was unable to create a new 1.
A friend suggested going into my M365 direction panel and enabling Modern Authentication. I did that, and the password was accepted, merely the business relationship creation process would non consummate ("Something went wrong...") Tried a bunch of stuff (much of it from this thread, that'south why I'k posting hither) merely no joy.
Left a support request in the management portal - said they'd be back to me in ten minutes. (Rolls his optics.) It actually took less than 2 minutes before I got a call dorsum.
A fleck of chat, a remote session. Did the following:
*Start, Settings, Accounts.
*"Access work or schoolhouse"
*Delete the account you lot are trying to set up email for.
*Reconnect the same account.
*Try over again to create the postal service profile.
That was it, the profile setup completed equally expected, my mailbox started to populate and the clouds parted and the sun shone through and I could hear a host of heavenly angels sing. (OK, I got carried away there, simply it was pretty special subsequently I spent virtually 6 hours trying to set information technology myself!)
Anyway as I said, I got a lot of proficient suggestions in this thread (as I normally practice at SW) so thought I'd add my fix in case it helps someone.

yous need to remove whatever Piece of work or school connections (azure AD) before trying to set up.

I also tried enabling/disableing MFA, registry hacks, new outlook profiles...nothing.
So removed all M365 related accounts from my PC, rebooted and recreated business relationship. Worked perfectly after that.

Ane of my team had TPM fault come up up, and couldn't open Outlook. Don't know if they are related merely I cleared TPM .
Outlook would sit there for a while and and then say could not open folders.
I removed the Outlook profile but when I added new profile and tried to add users business relationship it told me something had gone wrong.
I ended up adding my electronic mail address when below box showed up, it then asked for user name and credentials I used users email address and password.
Adding account failed, but then was able to get back and add users email account.
Cheers G

Thx Marathon. This was the only pace that fixed information technology. Found one-time cached work account in settings/accounts Work/ that was alien - causing this. As soon as I deleted it, cleared right up!

Glad I could help!
